Some things I've worked on...
Just a few examples of things I'm proud of.
Exploring the workplace for LGBT+ physical scientists: A survey and report from the IOP, RSC and RAS. My role: I carried out a qualitative study to support their wider survey findings, and wrote an initial draft report bringing it all together, shaping the final recommendations.
Science March Brussels, April 2017: Part of a global movement, the Science March Brussels took place on 22 April at place de l'Albertine, celebrating the global and diverse nature of science, and making a case for evidence based policymaking. My role: Lead organiser, so a bit of everything. Made it happen!
QMUL Centre for Public Engagement: The CPE supports all staff and students at QMUL in their public engagement activities, providing advice and guidance, reward and recognition and skills development as well as making new opportunities available and building relationships with public groups. My role: Establishing the CPE though four years of consultation, delivery and sustainability planning, achieving the Gold Engage Watermark in November 2016.
Science on Stage London, June 2015: This four day residential festival saw 800 science teachers from across Europe and beyond come together to share practice, develop their skills and make new contacts. My role: Producer and director, fundraising and stakeholder engagement.
SEPnet Outreach: A network of physics outreach staff across eleven universities in the South East of England. The network reaches a larger number of people from a wider range of backgrounds through collaborative working. Still going strong! My role: Establishing the network, demonstrating the benefits of collaboration, managing and mentoring dispersed staff, and making the case for sustainability.
